Established in the summer of 2019, Laker Coffee Co. is your downtown Edmonton stop for high-quality, hand-selected small batch coffee out of a refurbished and rebuilt 1976 RV.
Created by Chris McPhee, who has been a successful carpenter for over ten years, the mobile coffee trailer will be a jumping off point for Laker Coffee, while it establishes itself as a purveyor of high-end speciality brew and quality beans.
The Laker name runs back nearly 20 years, back from when Chris was a boy in Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and the “Lakers” were a local hockey team. The legacy of the team has moved through generations, from a hockey team, to a carpentry business, to, finally, a coffee distributor.
We're on a mission to bridge the gap between a better cup of coffee and tea at home and the local craftspeople who are passionate about producing it.
We want to connect the Edmonton coffee lovers with Edmonton. There are so many great cafes, small batch roasters, and hidden treasures within our city that are waiting to be discovered.
Early on our journey, we found out that more than 80% of coffee and tea purchased locally isn't actually local.
Wouldn't it be amazing if 80% of the tea and coffee purchased in Edmonton was local? And, the 20% that came from elsewhere was the very best the world had to offer?
